[He's settled against the backside of a gravestone. His own, for the record, in a sea of violet -- everything here is still and serene once again, no trace of the mess from earlier nor any hint of blood in the air. Even their uniforms have been changed at this point, moving on along with the rest of the school.
Perhaps the Troupe is expected to move on too, posthaste.
They do come pre-buried, after all.
He's really just staring into space, where one of the broken angels stares sightlessly back. But his eyes flicker over when he hears someone enter the area and approach; his gaze will follow Dainsleif to see what he's up to, as well.]
[ Dainsleif sees Elan settled against the gravestone, still as one practically, and the sudden changes that have washed away such indications are startling (will the notes he has be the only sign this happened at all?)
He is no stranger to moving from the death, but something about this - given the parting words by their overseer - is an aspect that doesn't sit right with him. ]
Did you come here to try to find some manner of peace?
[ Somehow, he doubts it, but he asks it nonetheless. ]
I don't think anything is meant to be peaceful here.
[Despite the words, it's just a statement -- something with no particular weight dropped atop the silence. Perhaps, like their profiles, it's just a fact of life here regardless of whether it's true or false.
The quality of what he says next is a little different.]
I was thinking of digging this up.
[He wouldn't be the first nor the last; maybe that's a fact, too, that sooner or later everyone will want to see what's under their own headstone.]
[ It seems that Father's preference is them being in a state of constant disarray. Which is what exactly they so happen to be getting in the first place, considering everything. ]
If that's the case, if you are considering digging up anything, then...I feel that maybe I should do the same.
We could go and grab a spade from the greenhouse.
[ Should he be encouraging this kind of behavior... ]
[Peace has always been a thing in name only; there are far too many factions between heaven and earth, whether literal and metaphorical, for anything to settle down back where he came from. Things may be simpler here, in some ways, but in other ways--
Elan's gaze stays on Dainsleif at the response; he doesn't move right away, because he's still watching to see if he's serious.
But considering all the action earlier, maybe it's not unexpected.]
There might be nothing. Would you be expecting to find anything?
[Even though their earlier actions had been coincidental, maybe these won't be.
Elan doesn't search the stare that meets his -- he's seen enough at this point to know that they'll probably go all the way through with this, and that's fine with him. It's not that he hadn't been interested in checking the grave, but that the grave itself had seemed to stand as something completely removed; not quite real, to the point where he's not sure even burying himself would yield anything.
And so, he'll stand and start making his way out of the roses. The greenhouse isn't far, at least.]
[ Seems that they are in accord, but this time less incidental.
Dainsleif really would have let Elan off Gabimaru for real, though, so perhaps there is something else to that too or just another incidental factoid.
As it is, Dainself will begin to also head towards the greenhouse.
Also...they're probably going to be silent on their trek there because he isn't the biggest talker, and Elan probably isn't either (but the blond will entertain discussion if it happens.) Dainsleif will also waste no time grabbing a spade once they're there, and beginning to head back.
[There are entirely too many people who are in accord with him killing off Gabimaru (and generally killing off Gabimaru, but that’s a thought for tomorrow’s Troupe), it must be stated for the record.
And I could in fact make us do the entirety of the rest of this PC with no dialogue but I’ll be merciful. They do make it to the greenhouse and all the way back in silence, though, anticipatory or merely focused or otherwise.
Elan stands in front of his own grave again and that’s when he pulls out the handkerchief. The flowerbed of roses is, as always, in the way.]
These roses are always more trouble than they’re worth.
[He’s going to set to work uprooting them in a large enough area to complete the main purpose of this.]
[ The perks (no) of playing characters who are more or less inclined towards being so quiet...
But, truthfully, the two are just the type to become laser-focused. There's certainly nothing wrong with that at all. ]
Hmph. You can say that again.
I'm starting to get sick and tired of seeing them. Hopefully, you've never been fond of roses yourself.
[ Dainsleif is going to set about digging through them with a quick movement from his end with the spade, hurrying - quick and relentless in how he tears through things...okay, this rper is sadly not a gardener and Dainsleif does not normally dig up graves. But it is what it is. ]
week 1, post-trial
Dainsleif wanders aimlessly into the area, later on, and happens to catch sight of another.
What exactly is Elan up to, here? Standing here in silence? Whispering to himself in his lonesome...or...? ]

In fact... ]
You'll find that I'm the type of person to expect little; if anything.
If there is anything at all, that would defy my expectations.
[ Dainsleif casually revealing that he is a half-empty kind of man, but also despite it, he is driven by something. And that something is spite.
So, like...it does sort of even out, which is probably why he isn't lying in a grave asking someone to bury him six feet under. ]
